Travelling to Kefalonia

There are direct flights from the UK (approx. 3hrs45mins flying time), also the Netherlands and Austria from May until the end of October. There are also flights via Athens throughout the year (less than an hour's flight from Athens). Kefalonia Airport is known as EFL.

Why not take a road trip? There are good road links via ferry from the UK and mainland Italy via Ancona, Venice, Bari and Brindisi to Kealonia.  Ferry operators include, Anek and Minoan and Superfast ferries.

Direct ferries are scheduled from Italy (Bari and Brindisi) to end in port of Sami and Poros. More ferry options from Italy to Patras (Ancona, Bari, Brindisi, Venice) are available; you can get a ferry from Patras to the port of Sami again.

Car hire and taxis are readily available to pick up at the airport.  Please book your car hire in advance to secure best prices and availability.  There are many hire companies that you can chose from.
