Places to visit

There are so many places to visit and explore on Kefalonia.  One visit will merely taste your appetite for what it has to offer.  The island is unspoilt, relaxed and very low key.  Secluded beaches around every corner that can be discovered by little motor boat, azure blue waters hidden down country tracks filled with wild flowers.

Fiskardo is a favourite with flotillas of yachts dropping anchor for the evening, with beautiful bars and tavernas serving seafood and grills. Boutiques and galleries line the seafront with brightly coloured villas and cottages overlooking the harbour.

Assos has a picture perfect harbour filled with beachside tavernas.  Quaint and slowly recovering from the Medicam that devstated the village last year. Thanks to many volunteers. It really does show the true spirit of Kefalonias residents.

Myrtos beach is probably one of the most photographed beaches in Europe, with stunning azure blue waters and a steep winding hill that decends down to the beach, this is definately a place to  visit for a picnic lunch.

Ithaka is a tiny island situated just off the coast of Kefalonia near the port of Sami (where Captain Corelli`s mandolin was filmed.

Argostoli is the capital of kefalonia.  The city is a bustling town with shops, tavernas, fresh fruit markets and  daily fresh fish readily available from the fishing boats that moor up on the quay side. This is also the commercial capital of the island.  Most provisions can be bought here.  A hospital, various Doctors surgeries, pharmacies and dentists are also available should you require them.
